Holly Ray Secrist

Emblem

Holly Ray Secrist went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 23, 2023 after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Holly was born to William and Freda Mae Secrist on July 14, 1943, in Smokeless Hollow Winona, WV. Holly was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He graduated from Nutall High School, served as a United States Marine, and attended Piedmont Community College. He was a coal miner for many years before having a career as a master gunsmith.

Holly, a Baptist and a Christian, was full of life with a big personality, charm, and endless wit. Knowing Holly was like being in the presence of a comedian. He was caring, compassionate, and accepted all people for who they were and loved with his whole being. His kindness radiated through his laughter and jokes. Holly enjoyed golfing, singing and music, working on guns and going to the shooting range. Above all, he was a lover of God, his family, and friends. Holly was blessed with many family members (blood-related as well as otherwise) to love and be loved by.

Holly is preceded in death by his loving parents, two brothers, Boyd and Kenny Secrist, brother-in-law, Flynn Pinckard, nephew, Russell Pinckard, niece, Gina Mae Secrist, and beloved grandson, Justin Alexander Davis.

He is survived by a large family, including his loving wife, Ada “Belina” Secrist, daughter, Belina “Mia” (Johnny) Davis, granddaughter, Samantha “Sami” (Justin) Dial, great grandchildren, Ada and Kaius Dial, sister, Naomi Pinckard, nieces, Moonie (Darrell) Sevy, Cindy  (John) Sears, Tammy (Mike) Caput, nephews, Mark (Cheryl) Secrist, William “BB” (Elaine) Secrist, Troy Pinckard, Mike (Bobbie) Secrist, Patti (Charlie) Summerall, great nephew, Eric (Kim) Sears and many more.

The family of Holly Secrist wants to give a special thank you to the VA Hospital nurses on 4B who took special and loving care of him. We also want to give special thanks to WVU Princeton Community Hospital CCU nurses and doctors for excellent care, love, and respect. A special thank you to John and  Cindy Sears, and John, Elizabeth, and Nathaniel Lyons, who loved Holly endlessly and helped in every way imaginable.

For the abundance of people who loved Holly, there will be a viewing to take place on the evening of Sunday, November 26, 2023, at 6:00PM until 8:00PM, with a burial service on the following day, Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1:00PM.
