Hersey Ernest Eads, 89, of Houston, TX formerly of Kincaid, WV died on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at Treemont Nursing Home in Houston, TX with his son, Rodney Eads by his side. Born September 06, 1915 at Page, WV he was the son of the late Preston and Lucy Chaney Eads. Mr. Eads retired as an auditor with the WV State Road Commission. He was formerly employed as Fayette County State Road Commissioner, Justice of the Peace for the Kanawha District, Montgomery Chief of Police, Manager of Kopper's Company Stores at Beards Fork and Page and owner of Eads Sunoco Station. He was a 50 years member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M.; and member of Montgomery Chapter R.A.M.; Mount Hope Commandery No. 22; Beni Kedem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Charleston; and the American Legion. He served in the US Army Air Corp during World War II having attained the rank of Staff Sgt. He was preceded in death by his wife, Masel Kincaid Eads; brothers, Percy and Oather and sisters, Osie and Naomi Survivors include daughter: Beverly Steele and husband, Everette, of Beckley; sons: Rodney Eads and wife, NaDean, of Houston, TX and Dr. Gregory Eads and wife, Penny, of Winchester, VA; sisters: Comella Barnette of Burbank, IL and Wanda Franklin of Lutz, FL; sisters-in-law, Rose Eads of Drennen and Marcella Eads of Gastonia, NC. He was also survived by his seven grandchildren, Lisa Polk and husband, Charles, and Angie Riffe and husband, Scott, all of Beckley; Deedra Elliott and husband, Mike, of Charlotte, NC; Brandon Eads and wife, Andrea and Courtney Eads all of Houston, TX; Zac and Tori Eads of Winchester, VA; and five great grandchildren, Hollie and Christian Riffe of Beckley; Lauren Polk of Beckley; and Jacob and Coleson Elliott of Charlotte, NC. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV on Saturday, January 29, 2005, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. Services will be on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 2:30 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
