Herbert Lee Bellew , 75, of Carlisle, WV died on Sunday, February 13, 2011 at his home. Born April 25, 1935 at Lick Fork, WV he was the son of the late Ballard and Jessie Phillips Bellew. Mr. Bellew was a retired mason. He was a member of the First Church of God at Carlisle and a volunteer for the Fayette County Emergency Food Pantry. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Treadway Hudson Bellew, three sons, Paul Bellew of Concord, NC, Herbert Bellew, Jr. of Thomasville, NC and Lloyd Bellew of Rt 1 Fayetteville, two daughters, Ruth Henry of Parkersburg and Angela Stapleton of High Point, NC, four step-daughters, Teresa Anderson of Hopewell, VA, Thelma Steelman of Hopewell, VA, Deborah Williams of Bradley and Rita VanBuskirk of Oak Hill, two step-sons, Kenneth Hudson of Bradenton, FL and Keith Hudson of Carlisle, brothers, William Bellew of Ithaca, NY, Virgil Klosski of Wriston and Daniel Klosski of Barberton, OH and sisters, Ruth Varner of Wriston and Chreda Klosski of Oak Hill. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, nineteen step grandchildren and thirteen step great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Richard Allen and Rev. Melvin Adkins officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.
