Henry W. Miller, Jr.

Henry Walton Miller Jr., 91, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, November 23, 2009 at Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV. Born September 12, 1918 at Jacomo, WV he was the son of the late Nora Mae “Nodie” Drennen Miller and Henry Walton Miller, Sr. He retired with thirty years service as a coal truck driver for Cannelton Coal Company. Henry was a member of the Jones Avenue First Church of God in Oak Hill. He was a former Fire Chief for the Oak Hill Fire Department and a UMWA member. A US Army veteran he served in World War II and was recipient of a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Loraine E. Blake Miller; one daughter, Brenda Smith of Mount Hope; three sons, Henry Lee Miller of Oak Hill, Jerry Miller of Princeton and Dairst Miller of Waynesville, GA; one sister, Nora Belle Paisley; six grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
