Henry Lewis Ellis

Henry Lewis “Sonny” Ellis, 83, of Oak Hill, WV passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at his residence.

Born May 26, 1934 in Laurel, Maryland he was the son of the late Henry Ellis Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth Allen Weckesser.

Henry was a veteran of the US Navy and worked in road construction.

He is preceded in death by his step father; Clarence Weckesser.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife; Elizabeth Withrow Ellis, three sons; Henry Ellis, Jr., Robert Ellis, and Michael Ellis, stepson, Floyd Modispaw and wife Heather, one brother, two step brothers, and three step sisters.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Gabrelle Marie Ellis, Abbigale Marie Ellis, Robert Ellis, Heather Ellis, Henry Ellis, III, Mikaela Ellis, Caitlin Hall, Nicole Ellis and Michael Ellis, Jr., step grandchildren, Kylie and Lacy Modispaw.

Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, November 20, 2017 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Richard Allen officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call the funeral home one hour prior to service.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
