Henry "Buddy" Lee Miller , 78, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Wednesday, July 07, 2021 at his home following a short illness.
Born August 21, 1942, in Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Henry Walton Miller, Jr. and Loraine Emoline Blake Miller.
Buddy and his siblings were raised on Trump Avenue in Oak Hill. He had many stories about how great the neighborhood was and growing up there. Buddy attended Oak Hill High School and after graduating entered the National Guard for 2 enlistments and then joined the Army. One of the highlights of his service career was being stationed in Germany, he loved the scenery, the people, and the beer.
Upon discharge Buddy returned home to Oak Hill where he married his first wife, Elizabeth, they lived and raised their daughter, Kristy, in Minden. In 1979 Buddy bought the house on Valley Street, where he spent the rest of his life.
Buddy was a truck driver, starting at Browinie's in Beckley and then moved onto Cardox and Prax Air where he retired from. He was a loving son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and grandfather. He would give you the shirt off his back, always ready to help anyone in need. Buddy would always greet you with a big smile, booming laugh, accompanied with his trademark cigar and ball cap.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by first wife, Elizabeth Crone Miller.
Buddy is survived by his second wife, Lisa Williams Boone Miller; their son, Andrew Miller (Aliyah Griffith-Gray); daughter, Kristy Miller Mouser Reed (Sammy); step son, Franklin Boone, grandchildren; Ma'Kayah Miller, Karlea Miller, Lindsey Mouser, Courtney Judy, Dalton Mouser, Brianna Reed, and Josh Reed, great grandchild; Mikayla Moore Judy; siblings, Brenda Smith (Robert) of Mount Hope, Jerry Miller of Princeton, and Dairst Miller (Donna) of Waynesville, GA; many nieces and nephews; and his dog Chico, who was Buddy's constant companion.
The family would like to thank Jeff Styers and Sam Miller, Buddy's neighbors, for their years of friendship with Buddy. The family asks that you keep them in your prayers as they mourn the loss of Buddy.
In accordance with his wishes, Buddy was cremated. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 18, 2021 at 1:30 pm at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Pastor Lewis Sanson officiating and where military honors will be preformed. Burial will follow.
