Helen V. Spencer

Helen Virginia Powers Spencer, 86, of Scarbro, WV died on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at her home. Born December 19, 1920 at Kingston, WV she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Lee Powers. Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Fairview Methodist Church at East Kingston and was a homemaker. Her husband, Robert L. Spencer, Sr. preceded her in death on July 27, 1996. As the last surviving member of her immediate family she was preceded by two brothers, Berly Powers and Homer Powers and two sisters, Mildred Webb and Ruth Sowers. Survivors include three sons, Robert L. Spencer, Jr. of Rt 1 Scarbro, WV, William "Homer" Spencer of Rt. 1 Scarbro, WV and Michael Spencer of Lima, OH; one daughter, Judith Woods of Rt 1 Scarbro, WV; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Services will be on Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Arolette Stover officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, July 19, 2007, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Grandsons Robert Spencer, III, William Spencer, II, Nathan Spencer, Lee Woods, Jr., Joseph R. Woods and Kevin Smith will serve as pallbearers.
