Helen Imogene Pack
June 3, 1924 — February 18, 2017
Helen Imogene Bennett Pack, 92, of Mt. Hope, WV went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2017. Born June 3, 1924 in Rainelle, WV the daughter of Edgar Bennett and Eva Warren Bennett.
Helen was a graduate of Mt. Hope High School and attended the nursing program at Morris Harvey College. Helen spent her life serving our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a member of Kilsyth Freewill Baptist Church since a young girl. Through the years she was a Sunday School teacher, worked with Vacation Bible School, member of the choir, and Program Chairman of the Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Billy E. Pack; siblings, Wilma Ivey, Sharon Rose, Warren Bennett, Jeffrey Bennett, Vivian Brewer, Charles Bennett, and Lyndall Bennett.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Yvonne Pack of Oak Hill and Linda Tiffany of Lancaster, NC; sons, David Pack of Covington, VA and Larry Pack of Greenbelt, MD; grandchildren, Jonathan, Virginia, Harvey, Deanna, and Elizabeth; great-grandchildren, Addison, Alexis, and Delany; great-great granddaughter, Sadie; special nephew ,Gary Pack of Mt. Hope; special niece, Beth Brewer of Cross Lanes; and family friends, Larry, Vickie, and Holly Darnell all of Prosperity.
Special thanks to all the workers at Mary’s Garden for loving Helen and taking such good care of her and also the Plateau Medical nursing staff for their excellent care.
Services will be Tuesday, February 21 at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with the Reverend Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
