Helen Burgess

Helen Mae Carson Burgess, 97, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, May 01, 2005 at Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV following an extended illness. Born February 29, 1908 at Snake Run, Allegheny County, VA she was the daughter of the late Chester R. Carson and Mary E. "Molly" Sively Carson Posey. Mrs. Burgess was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank W. Burgess; an infant son, Bobby Lee Burgess; two other sons, A. Leon Burgess and Donald C. Burgess; two grandsons, ibe sister, Gladys Carson Blake; and two half sisters, Bernice Posey Blake and Dorothy Posey Shumaker. Survivors include daughter, Lucille M. McClung and husband, Ray S., of Oak Hill; sister, Margaret Posey White of Avalon, CA; five grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, May 3, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Oak Hill Baptist Church from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at 2:00 P.M. at Oak Hill Baptist Churchwith Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
