Hazel McFalls Mowell,89, of Pax, passed away at Hidden Valley Convalescent Center, Oak Hill on Saturday, April 2, 2005. She was born in Inman, Virginia on February 10, 1916 daughter of the late Jonas and Callie Williamson McFalls. She was a homemaker. Hazel was married to Clyde Mowell for 34 years until his death in 1968. Also preceding her in death was an infant son, Clyde William Mowell, Jr. Survivors include two sons, James Mowell of Anderson, Indiana and Johnny Mowell and wife, Tammy, of Pax; three daughters, Barbara Tyree and husband, Leonard, of Franklin, Indiana, Norma Broadstreet and husband, Richard, of Guntersville, Alabama, and Margaret Mowell of Guntersville, Alabama; thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; two sisters, Helen Woodward of Brookfield, Illinois and Betty Messer, Bristol, Virginia; one stepsister, Marie Pleasant, Big Stone Gap, Virginia; one brother, James McFalls, Bristol, Virginia; one stepbrother, Omer McFalls, Carlisle, Pennsylvania and by several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister, and one stepsister. Service 1:00 PM Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
