Hazel Marie McNeil Corker, 88, long time resident of Oak Hill passed away at her home on Saturday, August 27, 2005 following a month long illness. She is known lovingly as "Corky" by her family and friends and was employed by the Collins High School and Oak Hill Hospital. Born in Wilkes County, North Carolina, October 12, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Hillary and Bina Canter McNeil. Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Henry Corker in 1975, and a daughter, Patsy Sue Law in 1995, also two brothers, Rufus and Turner McNeil and sisters, Oma Coleman and Dell Law. She has one remaining sister, Ruby Melton of Lenoir, North Carolina. She also is survived by her daughers, Alice F. Wills of Montgomery, AL, Margaret A. Auxier of Virginia Beach, VA and Dara Lynn Corker of Beckley, and sons, Harold Thomas Corker of Springfield, VA and Jackie Lee Corker of Las Vegas, NV. She has twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and many neices and nephews. Funeral will be Tuesday, August 30, at 2:00 PM at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Dr. John R. Sauvage officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6:00 until 9:00 Monday at the funeral home.
