Harry Goodman

Harry R. Goodman 95, of Mocksville, NC formerly of Mount Hope, WV died on Thursday, May 13, 2004 at Davie County Hospital in Mocksville, NC. Born January 27, 1909 at Lansing, WV he was the son of the late Lens and Vernie McClung Goodman. He was a retired coal miner for New River Company at Siltex and Garden Grounds and a survey crew member for the WV State Road Commission. Mr. Goodman was a member of the Mount Hope Baptist Temple, Mount Hope, WV, and a life member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Elizabeth Fulford Goodman on January 22, 2004; sisters, Myrtle Ann Sink and Ethel Phillips; brothers, Charles and William Goodman. Survivors include daughter, Carol J. Rogers and her husband, Fred, of Mocksville, NC and grandchildren, David and Whitney Rogers. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Sunday, May 16, 2004, from 1:30 to 2:30 pm. Services will be on Sunday, May 16, 2004, at 2:30 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Bill Bennett and Rev. David McCoy officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV.
