Harry Edwin "Ed" Korn, 73, of Rt. 1, Fayetteville, WV died Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill. Born May 30, 1936 at Oil City, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Muriel Hanna Korn. He was a retired, self-employed carpenter and millwright. Ed was a musician, both as a singer and a bass player. He formerly played with several bands. He was a member of the Harvey Chapel Methodist Church at Rt. 1, Fayetteville. In addition to his parents, a son, David “Babe” Austin, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Wallace Korn; two daughters, Ella Helmick and husband, Rick of Oak Hill, and Muriel Robin Korn Kiestra of Michigan; three sons, Paris Korn of Michigan, David Korn of Arizona and Charlie Korn of Michigan; a sister, Phyllis Michaels of Gatesville, MI and six brothers, George Korn, Richard "Dick" Korn, and Dave Korn, all of Toledo, OH, Merle Korn of Sylvania, OH, Gary Korn of Pemberville, OH and Doug Korn of Liberty Center, OH; Also surviving are seven grandchildren, including Holly Durham; eight great-grandchildren including Katelynn Durham and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Cy Holly and Rev. Bob Pauley officiating.
