Harry E. Carson

Harry Edgar Carson , 88, of Ansted, WV died on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born June 12, 1922 at Montgomery, WV he was the son of the late Gomer Dewey and Mattie Huey Carson. Mr. Carson was a member of the Turkey Creek Church of God. He retired from the Fayette County Board of Education having worked in the Transportation Department. His wife, Mildred Madeline Wooldridge Carson; a sister, Betty Cox and three brothers, George Carson, Robert Carson and Gomer Carson, Jr. preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter, Anna Johns and husband, James of Fayetteville; son, Kenneth "Wings" Carson of Ansted and three grandchildren, Samantha Johns of Kentucky, Theodore Johns of Hawaii and Andrew Johns of Fayetteville. Also surviving are several nieces and great nieces. Services will be on Friday, July 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Parker officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in memory of Mr. Carson to Quota International of the Plateau Area, PO Box 1020, Oak Hill WV 25901 to assist with their hearing impaired scholarship.
