Harold Vincent "Vince" Burdette

Harold "Vince" Vincent Burdette, 75, of Oak Hill, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 14, 2009 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born May 18, 1934 at Burnwell, WV he was the son of the late Ventrue and Eula Bird Burdette. He was a retired chief electrician having worked in the coal mining industry. Mr. Burdette attended the Church of the Nazarene in Oak Hill and was a member of the U.M.W.A. Vince was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who had a passion for living. His life was defined by hard work but most importantly by the time he spent with his family. He cherished Freda, his wife of 55 years, their daughters, Becky and Lisa, granddaughters, Ashley, Morgan, Lindsey and Caitlin and great granddaughter, Ava as well as his beloved dog, Cuddles. His legacy will be the traditions he taught his family, his example of hard work in the coal industry and the many memories made while boating, jet skiing, cruising in his convertible and joking with family and friends. He instilled in each one of us the importance of family. Survivors include his wife, Freda Margaret Coleman Burdette; two daughters, Becky Lilly and husband, Chuck of Oak Hill and Lisa Bowles and husband Jeff of Oak Hill; one brother, David Burdette and wife, Linda of Florence, KY and one sister, Judith Hatch of Charleston. He is also survived by four granddaughters, Lindsey D. Bowles and fiancée', Ryan Grubb, Caitlin R. Bowles, Ashley B. Lilly-Queen and husband, Wesley Queen and Morgan L. Lilly and fiancée', Kris Toney and a great granddaughter, Ava L. Queen all of Oak Hill as well as his beloved dog, Cuddles. Services will be on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Benny Pauley and Rev. Gary Lilly officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Wesley Queen, Kris Toney, Ryan Grubb, Greg Sutphin, Jim Deviese and Dave Kauff will serve as pallbearers.
