Harold Clinton Painter , 76, of Dothan, WV died on Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Nicholas County Nursing and Rehab Center in Richwood, WV. Born August 13, 1932 at Carlisle, WV he was the son of the late Harry A. "Sweetie" and Eula Jane Terry Painter. Harold was retired having been a 12 year employee for the WV Department of Highways. He also worked as a coal miner for seven years at Oakwood Mines and for Long Airdox in Oak Hill for 23 years. He was a Baptist by faith. Mr. Painter was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his a brother, Clifton "Tippy" Painter and an infant sister, Patsy Painter. Survivors include wife, Irma Clare Payne Painter; one son, Tom Painter and wife, Barbara of Oak Hill; two daughters, Vicki Harris and companion Charlie Wriston of Mossy and Donna Painter of Lexington, KY; one sister, Audrey Painter Love and husband, Shirley of Oak Hill and two brothers, Lee Painter and wife, Mable of Pine Valley, Cali. and William Painter and wife, Bertha of Columbia, SC. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Timothy Harris and wife, Lucinda and Ka Painter and a great granddaughter, Madison Clare Harris. Services will be on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Lum Toney officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill and Masonic Rites by Oak Hill Lodge #120 A.F. and A.M. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
