Harold Graham Callahan

With his family by his side, Harold Graham Callahan , 85, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Harold died at his home under the loving care and devotion from Kitty and Sandy. They both made it possible for him to stay at home where he wanted to be.
Born May 10, 1930 at Coal City, WV he was the son of the late James Lace and Ethel Lee Fuller Callahan.
Brothers, James L. Callahan, Jr., Eddie B. Callahan, and Bobby L. Callahan; sister, Ethel Mae Bowling; stepson, Kenny "Doc" Holliday; and a grandson, Danny Holliday all preceded him in death.
He was in the United States Marine Corps serving in the Korean war.
Harold was a retired truck driver and manager with Cardox Company of Charleston with over 25 years service. He was a member of the Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. and A.M. and attended the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene. He was baptized in his home by Pastor Ben Bleigh.
He loved his family and will be best remembered for his love of the water and being on his boat at either Lake Stephens or Summersville Lake. Harold enjoyed life always with a big smile on his face.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 54 years, Kitty Midkiff Callahan; stepson, Ronny Holliday and wife, Joyce of TX; stepdaughter, Sandy Holliday of Oak Hill; a sister, Betty Maxam and husband, Don of Ohio and a brother, Bill Callahan and companion, Linda of Beckley.
He is also survived by granddaughters, Kitty Marie and Jennifer both of Houston, TX and Stacy Lynn Bragg of North Carolina; great grandson, Logan Graham Hornsby of Oak Hill along with several nieces and nephews - with special mention of his devoted niece, Diana Janney.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to Denny and Linda Cole; Ray and Rita Toler; and Jay, Erin and Jacob Hornsby - all loving friends and neighbors that have been so loyal and faithful. A special thank you for their lady mail carrier, Janet Hernandez, who took the extra time to make a difference, and finally a thank you to his caregiver, Lisa Skidmore.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Dr. Randy James and Pastor Ben Bleigh officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park., Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jay Hornsby, Logan Hornsby, Don Maxam, Jerry Dooley, John Scott and John Puckett.
