Harold Lee Bibb, Sr., a beloved husband, father, and dedicated provider, peacefully passed away at the age of 72. He departed this life on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, West Virginia, surround by family. He leaves behind cherished memories of his unwavering love for his family, his passion for fishing and woodworking, and his undeniable dedication to Jesus Christ.
Harold was born on July 22, 1951 in Oak Hill, West Virginia. He was the son of the late John and Dorothy Persinger Bibb. Harold is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, John Bibb, Jr. and Larry Bibb, and two brother-in-laws, Wayne Conner and Michael Watkins.
Those who are left to celebrate his life are his loving wife Donna Watkins Bibb; son, Harold Lee Bibb, Jr., (Molly); daughter, Shelli K. Pauley; grandchildren, Mikaela Adkins (Jordan) and Virginia Pauley; great grandchildren, Emmalee Adkins, and Kinsley Adkins; brother, Randy Bibb (Debbie); sister, Carol Dick; sisters-in-laws, Sharon Conner, Susan Watkins and Shelia Sheaves (Larry); brothers-in-law, Dale Watkins, Sr. (Wanda); several nieces and nephews; cherished friends and beloved church family.
Harold was a man of unyielding dedication, renowned for his strong work ethic, and commitment to providing for those he held dear. He spent thirty-one years employed at Lowe’s, exhibiting helpfulness, knowledge, and support to his co-workers and customers. He worked tirelessly not just to support his family but also to instill in them the values of perseverance and resilience.
Beyond his devotion to work, Harold found comfort and joy in the vibrant moments in his woodworking shop and the quiet moments spent by the water's edge, indulging in his favorite pastimes. His crafting in the woodworking shop allowed him to express his creativity, even when it sometimes involved “sparks” of imagination. The tranquility of the open waters brought him peace. These leisure activities allowed him to make endless memories with loved ones.
Harold’s unwavering love for his family defined his life. He tirelessly fought for their happiness and well-being, always placing their needs above his own. His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will forever treasure the moments spent together, learning from his wisdom and unbreakable strength. His legacy will endure through the lessons he imparted, the love he shared, and the resilience he displayed.
Harold was a member of Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle where he expressed his devotion as man of God and centered his life around his faith and undeniable devotion to Jesus Christ. His commitment to his faith was evident in his life, guided by the principles of kindness, compassion, and love. Harold found strength and solace in his relationship with God, a guiding light that shaped his relationships. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, showing the impact of a life dedicated to serving God and spreading His love.
Harold will be dearly missed and remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his family find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with him.
Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
Visitation for friends will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM with Pastor Sonny Craft officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
