H. Blanch Samuels, 92, of Rt. 1, Oak Hill died Saturday, October 30, 2004 at her home. Born August 8, 1912 at Summerlee, WV, she was a daughter of the late Sherman and Rozetta Bickel Crawford. Mrs. Samuels was retired from Oak Hill Hospital as head of housekeeping. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and a former member of Oak Hill Chapter No. 107, Order of the Eastern Star. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Samuels; five brothers, Charles, William "Bill", Sullivan, Ray and George Crawford; and two sisters, Ruby Hodge and Pearl Crawford. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Kyle of Mt. Nebo; a stepson, Howell Samuels of Hampton, VA; 3 granddaughters; 5 great grandchildren; 12 nieces and nephews; 3 stepgrandchildren; 6 step- greatgrandchildren; and 2 step great-great grandchildren. Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill with Pastor Jerry Bush and Rev. David White officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour before the service Tuesday at the mausoleum.
