Gus N. Addington, Jr.

Gus Nickels Addington , Jr., 84, of Hilltop, WV died on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born April 12, 1926 at Gate City, VA he was the son of the late Gus N. and Edley Carter Horton Addington. Mr. Addington was a member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church. He was former drug sales representative for the A.H. Robbins Company having retired in July of 1988 with 29 years service. Gus was a member of the Oak Hill Lions Club, was a member of the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Beni Kedem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. Before his health declined he was very active in the Fayette County Shrine Club. He served in the US Army during World War II. Gus was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Mitchell Addington on October 1, 2010 and by a sister, Frances Culbertson. Survivors include a niece, Martha Ann Hicks and a nephew, William Culbertson Funeral services will be on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Oak Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Charles D. Miller officiating. Entombment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum in Beckley. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
