Grace Shawver

Grace Mae Carte Shawver, 94, of Waddy, KY formerly of Fayetteville, WV died on Friday, July 07, 2006 at Frankfort Regional Medical Center in Frankfort, KY. Born May 07, 1912 at Hico, WV she was the daughter of the late William and Geneva Mitchell Carte. Mrs. Shawver was a retired teacher and principal for the Fayette County Board of Education with 29 years service. She was of the Methodist faith. Her husband, Howard Shawver preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include one son, William E. Shawver and wife, Retha of Waddy, KY; three grandchildren, Angela Holston of Columbus, OH, Rebecca Wood of Columbus, OH and David Shawver of Cleveland, TN and by six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, July 8, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Sunday, July 9, 2006, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Services will be on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill in Oak Hill. with Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Oak Hill WV.
