Goldie Parsons

Goldie Elswick Parsons, 77, of Mount Hope, WV died on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born March 11, 1929 at Clay County, WV she was the daughter of the late Ova Elswick and Georgie Adkins Elswick Stevenson. Goldie loved spending time with and taking care of her family. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker. Her husband, Hollie Parsons, two sons, Denver and David Parsons; two daughters, Loretta and Brenda Parsons; a grandson, Scotty Hill and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Survivors include four sons, Dallas Parsons and wife, Iris, of Price Hill, WV, Carl Parsons and wife, Jewell, of Fayetteville, WV, Stephen Parsons of Price Hill, WV and Randall Parsons and wife, Rosemary, of Kilsyth, WV; one daughter, Judy Hunley and husband, Edward, of Mount Hope, WV; five brothers, Arlen Elswick of Clay, WV, Billy Stevenson and Arthur Stevenson both of Elyria, OH , Virgil Stevenson of Bridgeport, WV and Dallas Stevenson of Clay, WV; one sister, Inez Ard of Beckley, WV; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, WV on Friday, March 24, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Saturday, March 25, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Paul Young officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery, Bickmore WV.
