Golden E. Argabright

Golden E. Argabright , 100, of Barberton, OH died on Saturday, October 06, 2012. Born May 04, 1912 at Hilltop, WV he was the son of the late Daniel V. and Eliza Jane Cregar Argabright. Mr. Argabright had been a resident of Barberton for 51 years. Employed by the New River Coal Company for 21 years, he became part owner of Olson Sheet Metal in 1962, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Norton Baptist Church, an avid fisherman and hunter, especially deer hunting, and he enjoyed watching all sports on TV. Golden took up golfing at age 91 and had his first "hole-in-one" at Copley Greens at age 100. His wife of 66 years, Catherine E. Syner Argabright, a son, Robert Earl Argabright, brothers, Ulysses A., Leslie, Lonnie, Daniel, Dace and William Argabright and sisters, Lillie Kessler, Allie Ramsey, Mary Ferre and Pansy Shumake preceded him in death. Survivors include son, John Argabright and wife, Marsha of Norton, OH, daughters, Jean VanHook of Ft. Myers, FL, Eureka Orr and husband, Ronald of Simpsonville, SC and Janice Wilkinson and husband, Jerry of Simpsonville, SC, seventeen grandchildren, thirty six great grandchildren and forty eight great-great grandchildren Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. George Holliday officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
