Glenna "Sparkle" Honaker

Glenna Mae “Sparkle” Blackwell Honaker, 73, of Scarbro, WV passed away August 6, 2021 at CAMC General, surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 7, 1947 at Lochgelly, WV she was the daughter of the late Howard Glenn and Roberta Davis Blackwell.

She was a retired employee of Stone & Thomas and an avid caregiver. She was a member of the Scarbro Baptist Church of Scarbro where she attended faithfully and enjoyed singing in the choir.

Sparkle was a reflection of her nickname given by her Grandpa - being the brightest light in her family and friends lives. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Charles “Butch” Honaker; her daughter, Melinda and her husband, Keith Zutaut of Virginia; her son, Chuck and his wife, Sherri of Scarbro; and grandchildren, Allyson Zutaut, Tabetha Soberdash, Brent Zutaut, Travis Honaker and Trista Honaker.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Neuro ICU at CAMC General for their compassionate care given not only to Sparkle but to her family as well.

Services will be Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with the Rev. Jerry Cook, officiating. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home for family and friends beginning at 12 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at the High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to - the American Cancer Society, PO Box 42040, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123 or the American Heart Association, P O Box 15120, Chicago, IL 60693.
