Gladys F. Mccance

Gladys Frances Romage Humphries McCance, 80, of Glouster, OH formerly of Layland, WV died Thursday, August 3, 2006, in McConnelsville, Ohio, following a short illness. Born Aug. 15, 1925, at Layland, WV she was the daughter of the late Martin and Willie Claxton Romage. Mrs. McCance was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Humphries; a brother, Eugene Romage and a sister, Ruby Tucker. Survivors include her husband, Jim McCance of Glouster; two sons, Cecil Humphries of Gahanna, Ohio, and Danny Humphries of Navasota, Texas; two daughters, Rita Humphries of Oak Hill, WV and Connie Caron of Beckley, WV; several stepchildren; three brothers, Bobby Romage of Prosperity, WV, Ralph Romage of Layland, WV and Roger Romage of Shady Spring, WV; four sisters, Polly Fox of Floyd, VA, Edna Sexton of Oak Hill, WV, Ruth Suzza of Oak Hill, WV and Patty Tankersley of Pataskala, Ohio; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Charles Tankersley, nephew, officiating. Burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Oak Hill.
