Gladys Kesler

Gladys Watkins Kesler, 93, of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Mount Hope, WV died on Tuesday, December 06, 2005 at Ormond In The Pines Care & Rehab Center in Ormond Beach. Born January 14, 1912 at Dorothy, WV she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Elva Jane Walton Watkins. She was a homemaker. Gladys was the only surviving charter member of the Wesleyan Church, Mount Hope, WV where she was a long time board member, song leader and Sunday school teacher. She had been a resident of Ormond Beach since 2003. Her husband, Carl E. Kesler passed away on July 9, 1972. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having had three brothers, Ambrose, Cecil and Howard Watkins; and four sisters, Daisy Beatrice Webberburn, Mable F. Smith, Bessie Oatridge and Opal Oatridge precede her in death. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Withrow and Carol Murdock both of Ormond Beach, FL; one son, Carl "C.E." Kesler of Troutville, VA; seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Services will be on December 11, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. at the Wesleyan Church in Mount Hope with Rev. Randall Weatherall officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church.
