Gladys Honaker

Gladys Louise Hipes Honaker, 88, of Scarbro, WV died on Tuesday, November 09, 2004 at Hilltop Healthcare Center in Hilltop, WV. Born May 05, 1916 at Oswald, WV she was the daughter of the late Walter Harrison and Margaret "Mag" Peery Hipes. Mrs. Honaker was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV and the Ladies Aid. She was a homemaker and a member of Scarbro Homemakers Club for whom she served as Treasurer. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Theodore "Ted" Honaker; brother, John Walter Hipes, Jr. and a sister, Juanita Hipes Thurman.. Survivors include a daughter: Carol Louise Gregory of Dallas, TX; Sons: William "Bill" Honaker of Covington, VA and Charles T. "Butch" Honaker of Scarbro; Sisters: Frances Hipes Ash of Wood Haven, MI and Dorothy Allen Hipes of Charmco. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, November 11, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Friday, November 12, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Pallbears will be Chuck Honaker, Billy Honaker, Danny Bess, Keith Zutaut, Dean Elkins and Calvin Manning
