Gerald Keith Washburn, 68, of Oak Hill, WV passed away Thursday, August 11,2005 from a brain tumor. Born August 12, 1936 in Jane Lew, WV, he was the son of the late Hayward Washburn and Thelma Washburn Dinday. Gerald was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill. He recently retired in September 2004 from United Rentals in Chantilly, VA where he was a mechanic. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 50 years, Patricia Washburn; a son, Chuck Washburn and wife, Yvonne, of Hilltop, WV; two daughters, Tina Motley of Oak Hill, WV and Sue Cales and husband, Matt, of Oak Hill, WV. Six grandchildren, Aaron Motley and companion, Danielle Abernathy, of Dallas, NC; Zach Washburn and companion, Christina Power, of Hilltop, WV; Lindsay Motley and companion, Dallas Vance, of Oak Hill, WV; Lisa Washburn and companion, Rick Richmond of Hilltop, WV; Michael Underwood of Oak Hill, WV; Priscilla Washburn of Hilltop, WV; two step grandchildren, Matthew Cales of Lester, WV and Haley Barrett of Oak Hill, WV; two great grandchildren, Emily Motley and Bentley Vance; two brothers, Larry Washburn of Good Hope, WV; Lyle Washburn and wife, Angie, of Princeton, WV; one sister, Sandi Bowman and husband, Jim, of Fort Thomas, KY; a step sister, Ellen Pond and husband, Jim, of Feraley, Nevada; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a very special assistant caregiver and long time part of the family, Dale Smith. There will be no services as Gerald donated his body to The Human Gift Registry of WVU in Morgantown for Scientific Research on brain tumors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Southern WV, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802, the American Cancer Society, WV Division, 301 RHL Blvd., Station 6 & 7, Charleston, WV 25311 or the Rosenbaum Family House of Morgantown, WV in Gerald's memory.
