George "Pete" Murray, Sr.

George H. "Pete" Murray, Sr., 65, of Prudence, WV passed away Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at CAMC General Division, Charleston, WV. Born May 1, 1944 at Sand Branch, WV, he was the son of the late Rev. Paul Jonas and Nancy Caudill Murray, Sr. Pete was the retired owner/operator of Murrays's Appliance Sales and Service in Oak Hill for 24 years and was a member of the Mt. Hope Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Shirley Gilkerson Murray; one son, George H. Murray, Jr. of Prudence; one daughter, Theresa Sanger and husband, Steven of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Leah, Ashley, Tyler Scott, Rheanna and Aliceson; one great granddaughter, Krista; and one brother, Billy Ray Murray, Sr. and wife, Janice of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 17, 2009 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Howard "Junior" Calvert officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge Rd. Oak Hill. Friends may call 6 to 8 PM Friday, October 16, 2009 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Pallbearers will be George H.
