George Lechalk

George Lechalk, age 95, of Sun, WV, passed away on Friday, June10, 2011 at Hilltop Center at Hilltop, WV. Born June 14, 1915 at Oswald, WV, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna Morovich Lechalk. Mr. Lechalk worked as a mine foremen in the coal industry and was a member of the McDonald Masonic Lodge # 103 A.F.&A.M. at Mt. Hope, WV for over 50 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Jacobowski Lechalk on July 23, 1995 and by seven brothers and two sisters. Surviving are his son, George Lechalk, Jr. and wife Lucille of Fayette Heights, WV and his daughter, Mary Ann Ward and her husband Ray of Fredericksburg, Va; two grandchildren, George Michael Lechalk and his wife Anita of Fayetteville, WV and Amy Quann and her husband Michael of Fredericksburg, VA, four great grandchildren, George Mathew Lechalk, Christopher Lechalk and Libby Rose Quann and Nathan Quann. Also surviving are two brothers, Steve Lechalk of Kentucky and Ted Lechalk of Pennsylvania. A graveside committal service with burial to follow will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 13, 2011 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. There will be no public visitation and family members will serve as pallbearers.
