George Edward Holtsclaw , 79, of Fayetteville, WV died on Thursday, January 03, 2013 at his home. Born July 21, 1933 at Laurel Creek, WV he was the son of the late William and Sylvia Jones Holtsclaw. He was a retired employee for Houchins Block. Mr. Holtsclaw was a member of the Calvin Advent Church. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Rose and the family wish to express their thanks to Hospice of Southern West Virginia for the care they provided George. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Holtsclaw and Charles Holtsclaw and sisters, Mary Bennett and Lanie Conley. Survivors include wife, Rose Marie Moore Holtsclaw, brother, Paul Holtsclaw of Oak Hill, his "grandchildren" Crystal Chapman and R.J. Roles and some very special people who were a part of his life, Charles and Mary Moore, Kelly and Sara , Debbie and Bobby Sears, David Burgess, Israel and Crystal Chapman, Chloe and Jakob Pennington, Gracie, Elijah, and Aiden Chapman, Noah Roles and Penny Begley. Also surviving are his special caregiver, Imogene Abicht, a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Robert Pauley officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Fayetteville with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
