Gary Fannon, 58, of Mount Hope, WV died on Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born May 31, 1949 at Montgomery, WV he was the son of the late Melvin L. and Mary E. Pettit Fannon. Gary was a disabled veteran having served in the US Marine Corps and the US Army during the Vietnam Era. He attended the Maple Fork Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include his companion of 29 years, Carolyn Adkins; one son, Chris, at home; five brothers, Raymond Fannon and wife, Charlotte, Gail Fannon and wife, Vicky, William Fannon and wife, Sharon, Jerry Fannon and wife, Sue and Wayne Fannon and wife, Lisa and three sisters, Phyllis Allen and husband, Bud, Mary Jane Hutchinson and Kathy Johnston and husband, Jackie. Also surviving are five special family members, Pamela Dillion, Debbie Bowyer, Charles Bowyer, Jenny Bowyer and John Mullins; a host of nieces and nephews and all of his beloved pets. Services will be on Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Robert Barley and Rev. Dorothy Osborne officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 2, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
