Frederick "Fred" King

Frederick "Fred" Basil King, 91, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, November 10, 2007 at Vitas Healthcare in Hollywood, FL. Born January 30, 1916 at Dickinson, WV he was the son of the late David and Effie Estep King. He was a retired foreman for Union Carbide. Mr. King attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was a member of the Coal Valley Lodge No. 74 A.F. & A.M. in Montgomery for over 50 years and the Beni Kedem Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Charleston for 35 years. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Maude Louise Oxley King on January 31, 2007 and two sons, Larry F.King and David W. "Butch" King. Survivors include one daughter, Peggy Boyd and husband, Robert "Hook" of Dania Beach, FL; one son, Ron King and wife, Pat of Oak Hill, WV; two brothers, Leonard King of Huber Heights, OH and Raymond King of Florida; and three sisters, Cornelia Whiteman of Marion, IN, Virginia Berlin of Roseville, MI and Faye Skiles of North Town, TN. He was also survived by eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Services will be on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. David Sneed officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity WV with masonic graveside rites by Oak Hill Lodge No. 120 A.F. & A.M. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Friday, November 16, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
