Fred Davis Wriston, 95, of Kincaid, WV died on Saturday, September 18, 2004 at Montgomery General Hospital in Montgomery, WV following a short illness. Born August 25, 1909 at Kincaid, WV he was the son of the late Amos Dix and Rebecca McCue Wriston. He was a retired Fayette County School Bus Driver with 33 years service. Mr. Wriston had the distinction of being the oldest member of the United Methodist Church at Kincaid. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Walter and Oscar Wriston. Survivors include wife of 73 years, Evia Lee Vance Wriston; son, Fredrick Allen Wriston and wife, Joyce, of Alamogordo, NM and a daughter, Evon Wriston Smart and her husband, Kenneth, of Huntington. He is also survived by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and a niece, Beulah Wriston of Charleston. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, September 21, 2004 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at United Methodist Church, Kincaid, WV. from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Services will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2004, at 2:00 pm at the United Methodist Church in Kincaid with Rev. Arolette Stover and Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of the flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made the the United Methodist Church, Kincaid, WV 25119.
