Franklin Meadows

Reverend Franklin D. Meadows, 71, of Oak Hill, WV departed this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2005 at his home. Rev. Meadows was an Ordained Bishop of the Church of God having pastored various churches in West Virginia and Virginia. He also served both states in the Administrative Offices as the Evangelism and Home Missions Director. Born on April 08, 1934 at Fireco, WV he was the son of the late Elliott O. and Ethel Violet (Meadows) Meadows. He was preceded in death by one brother, Daniel Lee Meadows of Olympia, WA. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Shirley Thompson Meadows, one son, Anthony F. Meadows and wife, Charlene, of Orlando, FL and one daughter, Karen M. Elliott and husband, Dale, of Beckley, WV. He also leaves behind three beautiful granddaughters that he cherished, Lindsey Meadows of Tampa, FL, Lauren and Hayley Elliott of Beckley, WV. Survivors also include two brothers and four sisters, Bill Meadows and wife, Kay, of Connecticut, Elliott Meadows, Jr. and wife, Sue, of Coal City, WV, Dorothy J. Hargass of Coal City, WV, Joan Barton and husband, Asher, of Fireco, WV, Judy D'Angelo and husband, Kenneth, of Beckley, WV and Ruth Ann Meadows of Fireco, WV. Visitation will be held at the Mountain View Church of God, Hilltop, WV on Thursday, June 23, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM and on Friday, June 24, 2005, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be on Friday, June 24, 2005, at 1:00 P.M. at Mountain View Church of God, Hilltop, WV with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield, Dr. Dan Boling and Rev. Mark A. Schrade officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV Pallbearers will be pastors of the Church of God whom he has mentored. Honorary pallbearers will be various retired ministers that he served with in the Church of God.
