Frances Irene Miller Sweeney

Frances Irene Miller Sweeney, age 89, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Sunday, at 27, 2012 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley. Born April 20, 1923 at Handley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Emery and Gwendolyn Petry Miller. Frances was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Malcolm H. Sweeney on July 14, 1998, by her daughter, Barbara Tompkins and by three sisters and one brother. Surviving are her son, Robert Sweeney and his wife Kari of Shreve, Ohio and their children, Sean and Briele, her daughters, Margaret Heron and her husband Tom of Wichita Falls, Texas and their son Chad, Helen Sweeney of Oak Hill and her son Rev. Timothy Sweeney of Oak Hill, WV., her grandson Steven Tompkins and his wife Gina of Ohio, granddaughters, Sherry Tompkins and Brenda McGowan, both of Ohio. Also surviving are 4 great grandsons, 6 great granddaughters and one great great grandson, her sister, Jewel Stanley of Peoria Illinois and Hunter Hess who called are “Granny” for over 30 years. Graveside services with burial to follow will be held at 11:00 A..M. Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge Road, Oak Hill with Rev. Joe Hoggard officiating. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contribution may be made in Frances Sweeney's memory to the LifeBridge Assembly of God Enabled Disabilities Ministry, 1513 E Main Street, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
