Frances O. Jobe, 95, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at The Summit at Hidden Valley in Oak Hill, WV where she had lived since June, 2001. Born January 06, 1911 at Glen Jean, WV she was the daughter of the late Nicholas John and Nettie Gertrude Hinte Jobe. Miss Jobe was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and WV Wesleyan College with a B.S. degree. She taught for 39 years for the Fayette County Board of Education, most of them at the Oak Hill Elementary School. She was a member of the Glen Jean Union Church since 1926 where she was the church pianist/organist and the Young Adult Sunday School Class teacher from 1930 until 2001. Miss Jobe was the past president of the Mount Hope Federated League and a member the Fayette Study Club, the Fayette County Republican Women and the Glen Jean Garden Club. She was also a member of the White Oak Country Club and the National Retired Teachers' Association. The family extends their deep appreciation to the staff of The Summit for their loyalty and sincere dedication to the care of Frances. A sister, Theresa Marie Jobe and two brothers, Eugene and Alfred Jobe preceded her in death. Survivors include sisters, Felice Stark of Mount Hope, WV and Betty Fitzgerald of Piscataway, NJ; five nieces and nephews and 12 grand nieces and nephews Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, March 19, 2006, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Sunday, March 19, 2006, at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jerry Cook officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charities.
