Surrounded by family and friends, Evia Lee Vance Wriston, 90, of Kincaid, WV died on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at home following a long illness. Born November 29, 1914 at Giles, WV she was the daughter of the late Clarence L. and Alice Gee Vance. Mrs. Wriston was a member of the United Methodist Church, Kincaid, WV and Women's Society of the church. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Davis Wriston on September 18, 2004, three brothers, Earl, Lawrence and Grover Vance; and two sisters, Imo Love and Isabelle Sparks. Survivors include son, Fredrick Allen Wriston and wife, Joyce, of Alamogordo, NM; daughter, Evon Wriston Smart and husband, Kenneth, of Kincaid; sister-in-law, Katherine Vance of Fayetteville; niece, Beulah Wriston of Charleston; five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and on Wednesday at Kincaid United Methodist Church from 12:00 noon to 1:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, March 23,2005, at 1:00 P.M. at the Kincaid United Methodist Church with Rev. Arolette Stover and Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the United Methodist Church, Kincaid WV 25119.
