Born in Rush Run Mountain on June 4, 1918, Eva Loyal Smith, 94, of Oak Hill, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 3, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House. To all who knew her, Eva was known as “Granny.” She was an avid Bingo player, loved gardening and canning, and took great joy in her family and friends. Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy and Clark Berry; all of her siblings; her daughter-in-law, Lane Cochran; and her pride and joy, her only child, Herman “Shorty” Cochran. Eva is survived by four grandchildren, Raymond Cochran of Barstow, CA, Margaret Hildebrand of Oak Hill, Debbie Fleming of Oak Hill, Aaron Cochran of Elyria, OH and their spouses; eleven great grandchildren, Amy Cochran Zahaczewski, Trista Cochran, Amaris Cochran, Regina Zamora, David Cochran, Chris Jauss, April Morris, Amber Reveal, Samantha Knapp, Trina Tellez, Brittany Beezley, and their spouses; twenty-three great-great grandchildren; family members, B. Jo Kreft, Sue Gilkerson, Cora Morrison, Angie Loeffler, Dennis Williams,Doris Goins, Georgia Williams, Norma Seabolt, Jr. Williams, Roy Lee Williams, and Billy Gale Skyles; special friends, David, Mary, Alysa, Kelsey and Jody Johns; and many other extended family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 P. M. on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Bibb Cemetery, Fayetteville, with Rev. Joe Cuthbertson officiating. There will be no visitation.
