Euva L. “Lou” Thorne Grubb age 90, passed away peacefully on May 25, 2021, in Medina, Ohio.
She was born in Bowlin, West Virginia on December 25, 1930, to the late George and Virginia (Mills) Thorne.
She was a devoted wife, loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Lou enjoyed being a part of the Medina VFW Auxiliary, listening to country music, and she was always happiest in the company of her beloved family. Through the years she worked as a cashier at the Cracker Barrel IGA supermarket while raising her children.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Carl Grubb in 1990; her daughter Jacqueline Beal; infant siblings Milton, Dorothy Lorrine, Clara May, and Lily Thorne; and her brothers and sisters Flora, Paul, Margie, Thelma Jean, and Thomas B. Thorne, III.
Lou is survived by her sons, Stuart Williams, Max (Jane Steinhouse) Grubb, Carl “Brad” Grubb, Jr.; daughter, Jill Grubb; grandchildren, Mary Williams, Rebecca Williams, Heather Blackburn, Sophia Grubb, Jeffrey Roach, and Tyler Hapney; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings Margaret Rice, Arthur “Leonard” Thorne, Frances Rice, and Johnny Thorne, Jimmy Thorne, and Raymond Thorne.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3rd, 2021, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope. Services will be Friday, June 4th, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Blueridge Memorial Gardens, friends and family may call 30 minutes prior to the service.
