Eugene Hinte, 82, of Mount Hope, died Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a long illness. Born March 23, 1925 at Sun, WV, he was the son of the late Chris Hinte, Sr. and Dorothy Holstein Hinte. He was a retired coal miner with 43 years of service having retired from Westmoreland Coal Co., Eccles; a World War II Army veteran and a lifelong member of the U. M. W. A. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susan "Woody" Warwick Hinte; two sons and two daughters, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors include, three sons, Gary "Bucky" Hinte of Mount Hope, Winifred "Jack" Acord and his wife, Betty of Franklin, NC and Everette "Poochie" Acord and his wife, Sandy of Beckley; four daughters, Eugenia "Jeanie Bell" Goodale and husband, Jim of Charlottesville, VA, Alicia "Porky" Burdette of Beckley, Linda "Lou" Nakaishl and husband, Curt of Morgantown and Lillian "Ellen" James and husband, Joey of Mount Hope; two brothers, Arnold Hinte and his wife, Ann of Cleveland, OH and Donnie Hinte and wife, Fran of Pomeroy, OH and a sister, Margie Cimala of Beckley; 41 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Pastor Michael Kessinger officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Military graveside rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3110, Oak Hill. Friends may call Monday from 6 until 8 PM at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
