Ethel Campbell Ellison

Ethel Marie Campbell Ellison, 83, of Hilltop, WV died on Monday, May 02, 2005 at home following an extended illness. Born June 20, 1921 at Dothan, WV she was the daughter of the late Oscar Bennett and Lura Carnelia Anderson Campbell. Mrs. Ellison was a member of the Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill, WV where she was active in the Ladies Circle. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Harrison Ellison, Sr.; three sons, Ricky Lynn, Melvin "Sonny" Lee and Robert Ellison, Sr.;one daughter, Linda Silke and three sisters. Survivors include nine children: Alvin H. "Butch" Ellison, Jr. and wife, Dianne, of Hilltop; Jennings K. Ellison and wife, Kathryn L., of Oak Hill; Ruby Jean Rose and husband, Frank Osborne, of Germantown, MD; June Archer and husband, Earl, of Lynhurst, VA; Joetta McBride of Germantown, MD; Judy K. Helton of Kilsyth; Natella Archer of Gram, NC; Charles E. Ellison and wife, Mildred, of Oak Hill; James Ray Ellison and wife, Sharon, of Oak Hill also by twenty four grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Services will be on Thursday, May 5, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. at Fellowship Memorial Baptist Church, Oak Hill with Rev. Delmas Wolfe, Rev. Daniel Rice and Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requets memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802
