Esta Painter

Esta V. Roop Painter, 89, of Dothan, WV died on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at her home following a long illness. Born August 29, 1914 at Dothan, WV she was the daughter of the late Rev. James Henderson and Della Blake Roop. Mrs. Painter was a member of the Dothan Missionary Baptist Church, Dothan, WV and a retired store owner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. C.H. (Billy) Painter; daughter, Phyllis Toney; son-in-law, Roger Williams; brothers, Charles, Omri, Kyle, Luther and Edward Roop; sisters, Tella Campbell and Nell Aliff. Survivors include son, Claude (Rose Mary) Painter of Pax; daughter, Jane (Robert) Wingrove of Dothan Sister, Marie Armstrong; grandchildren, Steve (Pam) Toney, Sheila (Glen) Johnson, Rebecca (Doug) Holley, Mike (Jill) Toney, Rodney (Amy) Williams, Danny (Angie) Painter, Sandy (Joey) Wriston, and Leah Williams. Great grandchildren: Jennifer, Eric, Brian, Jason and Kellie Toney; Jeremy, Joshua and Amy Johnson; Autumn and Kristopher Holley; Tyler Painter; Chase and Cooper Williams; Dakota and Logan Wriston. Sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Roop; brother-in-law, Charles R. Payne, Jr.; son-in-law, Lum Toney; her best friend, Geneva Ellis and by many wonderful nieces, nephews and friends Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, January 24, 2004, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Services will be on Sunday, January 25, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Harmon Davis, Rev. Darrell Fuller and Rev. Doug Holley officiating.
