Ersline Marie Lawhorn Burgess Riggs , 81, of Fayetteville, WV died on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born July 24, 1933 at Lick Fork, WV she was the daughter of the late James and Eva Violet Lawhorn.
Ersline was a member of the Fairwinds Baptist Church, Bear, DE. She loved Mountaineer football.
Her husband, Elbert Lee “John Henry” Burgess, Jr. and a grandson, Christopher R. Hall preceded her in death.
Survivors include one son, Richard Burgess and wife, Tammy of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, Debra Benton of Fayetteville and Mary Ann Callahan and husband, Dayton Whittle of Fayetteville; one brother, Leo Lawhorn of Oak Hill and one sister, Elmo Riggs of New Castle, DE.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Kevina McDaniel, Crystal Callahan, Kristina Faulk, Courtney Armakovitch and Caitlyn Rawls.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Scott Lester officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers Danny Young, Louis Lawhorn, Seth Adams, Butch Lawhorn, Melvin Hartley and Brian McDaniel.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801.
