Ernest Orville "Dud" Settle

Ernest Orville "Dud" Settle, 96, of Robson, WV, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at his residence. Born April 4, 1917 at Robson, WV, he was the son of the late Adam and Hester Myers Settle. He was a retired crane operator in the steel industry and a member of the Robson Freewill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ardalee Settle; his second wife, Helen Huddleston; and granddaughter, Donna Braenovich. Dud was the last member of his immediate family. Survivors include one son, Richard Settle and wife, Frances of Robson; three daughters, Verne Hairfield of Richmond, VA, Evelyn Harlow of Doylestown, OH and Carol Rangnow and husband, Chuck of Robson; Helen's two children, Jerry and John Huddleston; 14 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 31 great-great grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 A. M., Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Orville Syner and Pastor Gary Philpott. Burial will follow at the Settle Cemetery, Robson.
