Emogene Johns Coy

Emogene Johns Coy, 82, of Scarbro, WV died on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born March 28, 1926 at Runa, WV she was the daughter of the late James E. and Maggie I. Pennington Johns. Mrs. Coy was a member of the Full Gospel Church at Scarbro and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph M. Coy; a son, William Coy; granddaughter, Diana Johns and a great grandson son, Baby Coy. She was also preceded by three brothers, Pete Johns, Bob Johns and Lyle Johns and a sister, Elberta Craigo. Survivors include three sons, Robert Johns and wife, Drema of Oak Hill, Gary J. Coy of Scarbro and Darrell Coy and wife, Shirley of Scarbro; three daughters, Dolly Hornsby of Scarbro, Kay Turner and husband, Dennis of Scarbro and Tabitha L. Coy of Beckley; two brothers, Darrell Johns of Crossville, Tenn. and Carl Johns of Akron, Ohio and one sister, Zelma Lee of Akron, Ohio. Also surviving are fourteen grandchildren, twenty seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Services will be on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Dorothy Osborne officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens., Prosperity WV.
