Emma Florence Duncan , 89, of Oak Hill, WV died on Friday, August 07, 2015 at Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Fayetteville, WV.
Born March 18, 1926 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late C. W. and Viola Blake Duncan.
Emma was a graduate of 1943 Oak Hill High School and an honor graduate of Marshall College. In her early years she taught mathematics in secondary schools in West Virginia and also was a social worker for the state of West Virginia.
As one point she moved to Dayton, OH were she became a full charge bookkeeper for a number of companies and later moved to Witchita, Kansas where she continued this line of work.
When she returned to West Virginia nearly 25 years later she worked for several businesses in Oak Hill until she retired due failing health.
Throughout her life, Emma loved the Lord and was active in church work. At the time of her death she was a member of LifeBridge Assembly of God in Oak Hill.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Lee Duncan.
Graveside rites and committal services will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Rev. Shirlie Watson officiating. Burial will follow.
