Emery R. Scarbro

Emery Ray Scarbro, 79, of Mossy, WV died on Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born January 12, 1928 at Kingston, WV he was the son of the late Hughie Green and Ethel Stover Scarbro. Mr. Scarbro was a retired coal miner for the Eccles Mine. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Fayette Nursing and Rehab Center and Bowers Hospice House. His wife, Donna May Kelly Scarbro; brothers, Maddy, Hughie and Eddie Scarbro and sisters, Lurabelle Wriston, Erma Patrick and Myrtle Good preceded him in death. Survivors include daughter, Teressa Gibson and husband, Reggie of Fayetteville, WV; son, Donald Ray Scarbro and wife, Dottie of Beaver, WV; two brothers, Rodney Scarbro of Beckley, WV and Roger Scarbro of Brooklyn, WV; four sisters, Sylvia Miller of North Carolina, Ethel Plummer of California, Judy Shotton of Florida and Edna Dower of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren, Dereck Scarbro, Tara Scarbro, Donna Rowlands and Jimmy Gibson and six great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday, March 1, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Friday, March 2, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Jamie Bailey officiating. Burial will be at Rinehart Cemetery, Mossy WV.
