Emery R. Anderson

Emery R. Anderson, 95, of Hilltop, WV formerly Red Star, WV died on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born November 22, 1910 at Export, WV he was the son of the late James S. and Maude Harless Anderson. He was retired from the C&O Railroad at Prince. Mr. Anderson was a member of the Red Star Baptist Church, Red Star and the Brotherhood of Railway Workers. Emery was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been preceded in death by three sisters and seven brothers and a granddaughter, Heather Star Anderson. Survivors include wife, Margaret "Maggie" McGuffin Anderson; four sons, Thomas Anderson and wife, Julie, of Beckley, Emory W. Anderson and wife, Delma, of Beckley, James P. Anderson and wife, Alice, of Maple Fork and David K. Anderson and wife, Sandra, of Milwaukee, WI; daughter, Judith "Judy" Appler of Oak Hill; thirteen grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV on Sunday, March 26, 2006, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Sunday, March 26, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV with Eulogy by sons, Thomas Anderson and James P. Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. Grandsons and grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
