Elmer James Richeson

Elmer James Richeson, 83, of Mount Hope, WV passed away quietly on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Hidden Valley Healthcare Center, Oak Hill, WV where he had been a resident for a year. He was born May 29, 1924 at Minden, WV, a son of the late Elmer Carlisle and Margaret Davenport Richeson. He was a retired night supervisor at the Village Garage, Village of Hempstead, NY with 37 years of service. Jim was a member of the Minden Baptist Church and attended the Mount Hope Christian Church; was a US Army veteran of World War II having served in Germany and a member of the VFW. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary M. Deal Richeson and one grandson, Jeremiah Richeson. Survivors include two sons, Elmer James Richeson, Jr. and wife, Susan of Shirley, NY and John R. Richeson and wife, Shelly of Kitty Hawk, NC; grandsons, Asher Richeson and wife, Tammi, John Michael Richeson and wife, Tori, both of North Carolina, and James Ian Richeson of New York; great grandchildren, Amarah Starr Richeson and Nehemiah Richeson; one brother, Gary Richeson of New York. Mr. Richeson will be missed by all. Committal Service will be at 11 AM Wednesday, August 8, 2007 at Blue Ridge Memorial Mausoleum, Prosperity, WV with Minister Ferdinand Gavina officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope.
